Yashodhamma PH

Yashodhamma PH’s journey is one of resilience, determination, and a lifelong commitment to empowering workers and communities. A Trustee at Dhwani Foundation, she is also the Co-founder and General Secretary of Munnade. Raised in Pochakatte, a small village in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district, her commitment to social change began early when she taught her parents and grandparents to read and write as part of Karnataka’s adult education program. After overcoming personal challenges, including child marriage and the loss of her husband at the age of 18, she moved to Bengaluru and worked in the garment industry for eight years before joining Cividep-India as a Field Coordinator. Her advocacy for garment workers has taken her to international platforms, including Cardiff University, UK, where she has spoken about the realities faced by Indian garment workers. At Dhwani Foundation, she serves as a Trustee, bringing her grassroots experience and deep understanding of workers’ rights to support the organisation’s mission of strengthening grassroots nonprofits. She has completed her senior secondary education.
